Intuitive Machines is seeking the best, the brightest and the driven to be a part of our Spaceflight Team supporting NASA returning to the Moon.



NASA, working with private industry, is planning our return to the Lunar Surface. For the first time since 1972, we are planning surface operations on the Moon. For the first time ever, we will conduct Lunar Polar explorations on the surface. These explorations will include both human and robotic missions. Join the team planning the first robotic lunar polar surface exploration. At NASA in Silicon Valley, we are designing a Lunar prospecting mission to search for water ice in a polar region on the Moon. The VIPER rover will launch as early as 2023. 

As the Mission Operations Integration Engineer, you will be a member of the VIPER Mission System Team, responsible for the design and planning of real-time operations. This includes involvement in the development of procedures, flight rules, mission operational processes, mission timelines, command procedures, and operational integration of payloads.

Required Skills and Traits*: 

  • Five or more years of experience in spacecraft operations on flown missions, either real time command and control in Earth orbit, and/or Cis-Lunar space, and/or sequenced operations in interplanetary space, or on a planetary surface

  • Experience in developing, testing and simulating spacecraft operations processes, such as
         o Procedures
         o Flight Rules
         o Mission Timelines
         o Command Procedures

  • Demonstrated understanding of spacecraft systems from an operational perspective

Desired Skills *

  • Experience leading teams

  • Experience in payload integration

  • Spacecraft command scripting languages (YAMCS/Python, cFS/ATS-RTS)
