Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to*

CSMO representative to the Requirements Verification Working Group (RVWG).

  • Process new and changes to existing requirements sets and verification success criteria at the SRD, IRD (tier 1) and spacecraft spec levels. (list these if needed to bound scope)

  • Coordinate processing and approving Requirement Change Notices (RCNs).

 CSMO representative to the Verification Engineering Working Group (VEWG)

  • Assist in balancing risks/cost/schedule to steam line efforts

Coordinate verification closure efforts for the prime contractor’s performance for non-tier 1 requirements (list these if needed to bound scope)

  • Support the weekly Lockheed Martin (LM) IPT meetings

  • Direct the closures of tier 1 requirements to meet program deadlines and milestones

  • Make recommendations to LM and CSMO management of course corrections needed based on risk assessments for late closures

  • Manage the processing and closures of tier 1 variances

CSMO representative for all Integrated Test and Checkout (ITCO) planning and execution activities

  • Support Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) Monthly Planning meetings

  • Support the Orion Production Office (OPO) for CSMO related plan development, coordination and execution efforts

Coordinate RPOD Critical Design Review activities

  • Manage and implement distribution and posting of review materials and products

  • Support the Rendezvous, Proximity, Ops & Docking (RPOD) Functional Area Manager (FAM) in collection, review and disposition of review discrepancies noted

  • Support the RPOD FAM in the implementation of the actual review and closure of actions

Support CSMO status meetings

  • Attend one on one tag-ups

  • Provide Weekly Status Review packages

  • Provide inputs to staff charts

Required education/experience/skills*

  • BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and 10 years of applicable and progressive engineering experience.

  • Knowledge of product life cycle development, sound systems engineering & integration principles, and a good working knowledge of associated engineering disciplines.

  • Strong working knowledge of systems engineering practices associated with the definition, design, development, verification, implementation, testing, integration, and validation of complex systems.

  • Practical experience with innovation or process improvements projects and initiatives. 

  • Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal), integration, coordination and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint). 


  • General knowledge of working with requirements management tools and environments such as Cradle or DOORS.

  • Experience in Spacecraft Mass Properties Practices/Policies and Testing

  • Experience in Spacecraft Separation Systems

  • INCOSE Certified System Engineering Professional (CSEP).

  • Experience in NASA human spaceflight programs.
