Ringo Starr sends birthday "Peace and Love" message to the Moon and Back with intuitive machines & goonhilly earth station ltd.

On July 7, 2025, Ringo Starr turned 85. This year, in collaboration with Intuitive Machines, his message of “peace and love” traveled to the Moon and back—transmitted through the same ground infrastructure Intuitive Machines uses to support commercial spaceflight.

How It Worked:

How It Worked:

• Ringo recorded a short audio message continuing his annual birthday tradition.  

• Intuitive Machines prepared the file for space transmission and routed it to its Data Transmission partner, Goonhilly Earth Station Ltd in the United Kingdom. 

• Goonhilly used its GHY-6 radio astronomy dish to transmit Ringo’s audio recording to the Moon. 

• A second Goonhilly antenna received the message after it reflected off the lunar surface.  

While this particular signal carries a personal message, the underlying system is the same one Intuitive Machines uses to support commercial real-time data transmission. Goonhilly is a key part of the Company’s global ground station strategy, supporting space navigation, communications, control, and tracking.
