Intuitive Machines is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician professional to join our Lunar program.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to*

  • Assisting engineering staff with staging, setting up, assembling, testing, and installing spaceflight hardware.

  • Hands on operations with both large and small fragile spaceflight assemblies.

  • Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, schematics and diagrams to determine the method and sequence of assembly of a part, machine, or piece of equipment.

  • Utilizing machine shop manufacturing equipment (lathe, milling machine, drill press, etc.) in parts fabrication

  • CNC experience (at least some limited CNC experience)

  • Using various electro-mechanical tools and equipment with little or no prior instruction.

  • Verifying dimensions of parts, using precision calibrated measuring instruments and tools, to ensure specifications are met.

  • Collaborating with production engineers to develop and document integration processes and procedures.

  • Performing work according to approved procedures, specifications, and test instructions.  

  • Heavy rigging for large assemblies.

  • Operation of personnel platforms (boom lifts, scissor lifts, etc.) Repair and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies

  • Ensuring all production services are performed on time, safely and in a professional manner.

  • Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to industry regulations.

  • Performing all other assigned duties and being adaptive to changing manufacturing schedules.

Preferred Work Experience*

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional propulsion, mechanical, electrical or avionics hardware installation experience.

  • Experience with manufacturing in Composite, Aluminum, Titanium, and/or Inconel manufacturing would be a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal), integration, coordination

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently

  • Experience building, testing, and handling space flight hardware.

Preferred Education*

  • Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, or similar is beneficial.

  • Post-secondary school training from a vocational education program.

  • Military technical training is highly desired.

  • Experience in the aerospace industry, aviation, or other high reliability operating environment.

*U.S. citizenship is required.
