Intuitive Machines is seeking a Sr. Propulsion Engineer to join our Lunar program.
Responsibilities
Develop operational models and simulations of propulsion systems
Act as responsible authority for operations of test facilities and associated procedures
Apply advanced knowledge of propulsion system design, analysis principles, systems engineering, and operations
Create new component/system designs and architectures for future propulsion systems
Design propulsion components and assemblies to meet specified requirements for flow, stress, safety factor, manufacturability, life, etc.
Requires proficiency in compressible and incompressible fluid dynamics, combustion, heat transfer, structural design, material science, and analysis tools (CAD, FEA, etc)
Analyze propulsion system performance data.
Produce manufacturing drawings and collaborate with manufacturing team as required.
Fabricate propulsion components and assemblies using common machine shop tools per drawings and within required tolerance.
Act as Responsible Engineer for specific components as needed
Operate propulsion system testing equipment for integrated and component level tets per procedures and with a focus on safety.
Includes but is not limited to high pressure plumbing, cryogenic fluids, high temperature systems
Create and manage operations procedures for component and system test stands
Demonstrate research initiative and ability to solve problems both independently and as part of a team.
Follow all required safety policies and practices
Required Education/Experience/Skills
M.S. or PhD. with 5+ years (Aerospace preferred)
