Responsibilities

· Lead design, integration and testing across flight, ground and simulation software elements

· Maintain and assess project schedule across all software components

· Properly strategize technical decisions to ensure a scalable and robust architecture•

Required Education/Experience/Skills

· B.S. in computer science or engineering domain

· Previous successful delivery, deployment and maintenance of customer facing production systems

· 5+ years experience in software project management

· 5+ years experience with full stack applications and/or service-oriented architectures

· 5+ years experience with embedded, real-time system development, preferably involving spacecraft flight software

· 5+ years experience in object-oriented design

· 5+ years experience with Windows and POSIX-based operating systems

· 5+ years experience with virtualization and containerization

· 5+ years experience with relational and NoSQL persistence solutions

· Organized, thorough and methodical approach to leadership

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Experience in an agile / scrum development environment

· Capable of both high quantity and high quality output

· Ability to work in a fast paced, hard charging, high stakes environment

· A passion for spaceflight

Preferences

· M.S. or PhD in computer science or engineering domain

· 5+ years experience in Python, C, and C++ development

· Experience with AWS-based solutions

· Experience with computer networking at various OSI layers (i.e. Ethernet, IP, TCP, UDP, etc.)

· Experience in project management, development and testing of safety critical applications

· Experience with test driven development methodologies

· Experience with software release engineering

· Familiar with the NASA Trick simulation framework

· Familiar with the NASA Core Flight System (CFS) framework

· Familiar with Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS) standards
