Responsibilities

  • Under general direction, execute and supervises cradle to grave purchasing activities (including bid, evaluate, award cycle, execution of agreements, execution of changes, price, and schedule negotiations) across all projects.

  • Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts, and long-term contracts with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services, and supplies.

  • Maintains accurate data and scoring of vendors logs.

  • Drive cost reduction initiatives.

  • Understands, tracks, and forecasts the key cost drivers and market factors for the assigned purchase categories.

  • Assists in developing specific sourcing strategies to support corporate objectives, providing the company competitive advantage in the areas of materials, supplies, and services, and ensuring alignment with Engineering.

  • Identifies corrective actions and measures for quality or schedule issues with suppliers.

  • Works closely with Engineering and the projects.

  • Supports ISO audits.

  • Assures timely reporting of issues to the projects and procurement team.

  • Locates, analyzes, and develops a consolidated supplier base to meet current and future needs.

  • Creates and maintains mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with suppliers to foster feedback and continuous improvements

  • Provides input to drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the procurement process, procedures, and tools.

  • Conducts scloseout of procurement operations, including settlement of claims and back-charges.

  • Drives continuous improvement of purchasing processes.

Required Education/Experience/Skills

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management or Business, and three (3+) years of Procurement and Supply Chain Management experience.

  • Experience in purchasing or subcontracts, including bid evaluation, award cycle, execution of agreements, execution of changes, and price and schedule negotiations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication to effectively communicate commercial solutions to procurement and non-procurement personnel.

  • Ability to work in a fast, schedule-driven work environment.

  • Candidates must have strong analytical skills, Microsoft Excel proficiency, and proficiency in procurement systems.
