Intuitive Machines is seeking a Orbital Tube Welder to join our Lunar program.


To ensure success as an Orbital Tube Welder, you will be responsible for and exhibit solid knowledge in Orbital Gas Line Welding in a constructive and safe manner. Provide support to all areas of production and communicate technical advice to the project construction team.

Required Education/Experience/Skills

  • Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, or similar is beneficial.

  • Post-secondary or trade school training from a vocational education program.

  • Military technical training is highly desired.

  • Experience in the aerospace industry, aviation, or other high reliability operating environment.


  • Minimum of 5 years of professional OTW in Propulsion, Aerospace, Chemical or Semiconductor plant maintenance experience strongly preferred.

  • Certified in or Experience with OTW in Stainless steel, Titanium, and/or Inconel. manufacturing would be a plus.

  • ASME hand welding certification including Tig, Mig, and stick.

  • Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal), integration, coordination.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.

  • Experience building, testing, and handling space flight hardware.

Essential Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Proven experience with complex assemblies, e.g. production in aviation/automotive, semiconductor/spaceflight maintenance/assembly.

  • 3+ years of experience with OTW and hand welding.

  • 3+ years hands-on mechanical and assembly experience.

  • Skilled in pipe and/or tube bending using a hand bender.

  • Knowledge of a wide variety of pipe fittings including NPT, VCR, and compression.

  • Assisting engineering staff with staging, setting up, assembling, testing, and installing spaceflight hardware.

  • Ability to self-inspect welds before submission to Certified Weld Inspection.

  • Hands on operations with both large and small fragile spaceflight assemblies.

  • Able to read technical drawings and assembly instructions.

  • Proficient in reading blueprints, layout drawings, EBOM's and piping P&ID's.

  • Utilizing machine shop manufacturing equipment (lathe, milling machine, drill press, etc.) in parts fabrication

  • Using various electro-mechanical tools and equipment with little or no prior instruction.

  • Verifying dimensions of parts, using precision calibrated measuring instruments and tools, to ensure specifications are met.

  • Collaborating with production engineers to develop and document integration processes and procedures.

  • Performing work according to approved procedures, specifications, and test instructions. Comfortable working within an evolving process.

  • Testing of pneumatic and/or cryogenic valves, fluid systems, actuators, or components.

  • Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to industry regulations.

  • Performing all other assigned duties and being adaptive to changing manufacturing schedules.
