Intuitive Machines is seeking an Operations Tools Test Engineer to facilitate integrated systems testing for a developing multi-mission lunar architecture

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans for integrated systems (Control Center, Voice Systems, Lunar Landers, Surface Vehicles, Communication Satellites, Ground Network, Simulator Operations) 

  • Aid in development of integration products including regulatory documentation, system architecture and design solutions as related to operations, interface definitions, mission timelines, and procedures  

  • Assist in real-time operations

Required Education/Experience/Skills

Education:

BS degree in science/engineering

Experience:

  • 5+ years’ in an operations environment including support of associated ground systems 

  • Demonstrated cross-discipline support (e.g., software/hardware) to develop systems and associated test plans, along with execution of testing 

  • Spacecraft and/or ground system integration and testing 

  • Development and execution of both technical and team coordination procedures 

  • Experience with documentation and collaboration tools such as Confluence, Jira, MS Office (MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel)

Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, hard charging, high stakes environment 

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment 

  • Flexibility and creativity to seek, create, and utilize operations and systems engineering practices that suit a lean and agile lunar operations company without sacrificing technical excellence and integrity 

  • Ability to translate design information and technical documentation into functional test protocols, procedures, and mission sequences/timelines 

  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages and web tools (e.g., Python, HTML, Grafana)

Desired Skills

  • Support of real-time console operations for human or robotic spacecraft 

  • Familiarity with command & control architecture 

  • Cloud-based platform development

Essential Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Applicant selected may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

  • Work may involve sitting for extended periods.

  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.

  • Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.

  • Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

  • Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)

  • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.

  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.

  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.

  • Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
