About the Role

Intuitive Machines is seeking a Requirements Engineer to be a team member for the International Space Station Program tracking requirements, processing change requests, and tracking requirements violations. The successful candidate will support the NASA Increment Management Team as a console Increment Engineer, working in the Mission Control Center monitoring communications with the astronauts onboard the International Space Station (ISS). This position requires a dedication to innovative thinking to resolve complex resource
and process issues.

Responsibilities

Requirements Engineer responsibilities include understanding and tracking documented requirements, integrating new requirements, processing change requests, and tracking

violations. Support NASA Increment Management Team as a console Increment Engineer, responsibilities include monitoring Mission Control Center communication with the International Space Station (ISS) and writing a daily ISS Daily Summary to the ISS Program office. This position requires a dedication to innovative thinking to resolve complex resource and process issues.


Specific tasking may include, but is not limited to:

  • Data analysis on spacecraft systems and processes.

  • Requirements development and management.

  • Developing training materials for specified areas.

  • Support to senior management at NASA boards and panels.

  • Author technical and engineering memos and presentations as required.

  • Originate specifications, control documents, verification and validation plans, procedures, reports, or other documentation in support of design and development activities.

  • Develop, prioritize, and coordinate ISSP documentation to meet program schedule milestones.

  • Provide support to real-time operations.

  • Travel is required on a periodic basis to support program reviews and technical interchange meetings (TIMs). Periodic overtime and shiftwork is required.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Education/Experience/Skills

  • BS Degree in STEM from an accredited college or university

  • Requires the use and understanding of basic engineering mathematics and principles.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal), integration, coordination and presentation skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and team working skills. Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and independently

  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work to meet critical schedule requirements in a dynamic environment

  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated and take initiative in completing tasks with minimal management direction

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).

  • Applicant selected may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

  • Work may involve sitting for extended periods.

  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.

  • Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.

  • Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

  • Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)

  • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.

  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.

  • Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.

  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.

Preferences

  • Computer programming (Visual Basic, C, C++, Python, Java) is a plus.

  • Systems Engineering experience
